"My name is Eduard Schneider and I am a producer from Romania, more precisely Transylvania (yep, the genuine home of the guy who puts the bite on folks). Our company does mainly music videos and commercials, but early this year we decided to make the jump to shorts, documentaries and small budget features. As we are far away from the capitol Bucharest, we got tired of renting cameras on a daily basis. So we did some research on the net. It soon became clear that the HVX200 with Redrock M2 was the only combo good enough within our budget limits.

We first came across Zacuto on dvxuser.com and although many posts put them on the expensive side, a look on zacuto.com  convinced us about the build quality and completeness of their offer. So I've sent an email for a quote, asking for a kit that suits our needs. I must admit that although the website is very well structured and you can learn about the parts, I couldn't figure out by myself what we needed absolutely in that kit and what was luxury. We went for the Studio Handheld Package because we wanted the rig as flexible as possible in any situation. Steve wrote back and soon we were discussing over skype as if we were two blocks away, not on the other side of the big pond. It came as a big surprise when I found out that Steve is actually "Mr. Zacuto", as he took that much time and patience to explain what the package is about.

The shipping costs to Romania were slightly lower than a flight ticket, so I decided to visit Chicago (and the US) for the first time and pick it up. It was a great experience in so many ways and very interesting to meet the Zacuto guys in person. No need to mention that we now have the sexiest camera package of Romania. When we deploy our storm cases on the set, everybody says 'here come the US Marines'.

Two months later, our fellow Romanian director Cristian Mungiu came home with the Golden Palm from Cannes and we are more than ever determined to make great stuff on tight budgets."
