“As Director, DP and Creative Director, I am involved with a lot of different productions. From television campaigns to documentaries and short films, I have had the opportunity to work with some great people and amazing technology. The team at Zacuto is one of those experiences. They understand the pressures and solid performance that is asked of crews and equipment and their Universal Support System has surpassed my expectations. We found Zacuto and the Universal Support System almost a year ago because we needed the ability to take the entire camera and HD monitor quickly from location to location on semi-documentary projects. Or first shoot with the Universal Support System was in a urban downtown environment- we had dozens of blocks to cover and several dozen shots to pull off in one day. With any other system, we would have had to take 10 minutes at each location to stop, setup and shoot. Using the Zacuto system we were able to walk to the location: camera, rails, mattebox and HD monitor supported by the Universal Support System...pop the camera on the tripod and start shooting immediately. No other system gives us this flexibility and allows us to attach additional monitors, 35mm adapters and accessories in such a simple and bulletproof manner. When it’s all said and done, the creative ideas and production qualities matter the most. And whether we’re using a 35mm lens adapter, a HD monitor, a shoulder mount, or even a jib arm, the Universal Support System and accessories allow us to focus on those elements and reach for even higher goals.
