cameras, our specialty is our unique all inclusive 24p camera packages. Our trademarked camera packages were designed by DP’s for DP’s. Zacuto’s unique camera packages come in four types: Zacuto ENG package (news style: camera, lens, batteries & charger), Zacuto Docu package (documentary style: built for the run-and-gun shooter, yet has necessities like a 2-stage matte box, filters, follow focus & zoom controller), Zacuto Cine package (feature style: built for a larger crew, comes with prime or cine zoom lenses, monitoring & more)
and Zacuto Cine Plus package (feature style: includes prime and cine zoom lenses, additional monitoring, extender viewfinder, zoom controller, support and much more).
Equipment is one thing but how it’s packaged is another.
Years of experience went into the design of our custom cases. These cases were designed to hold a lot of gear in a compact space, reduce the amount of total cases, have ease of use taking the gear in and out and be the correct weight and size to be shipped or taken as baggage on any airline.
Zacuto's dedication to our customers starts with our tech support 8am – 10pm CST 365 days a
year. If you have problem or question we are there for you in a way that only a small boutique
can be. You’ll talk to a person, not an answering service. Quick story, we once had a camera package on an African safari, they called us on Monday and said their viewfinder was working
erratically. We used our courier service and delivered them a new viewfinder on Wednesday before 10am.
That's the kind of service you can expect.
Zacuto's night drop room allows our customers to pickup and deliver
rental equipment 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Also, in our night drop room
are spare videotapes in all formats, replacement cords, cables & connectors, just in case you need an extra, or if any should get lost or damaged. With your rental you will receive a code to our night drop room. If you need anything, feel free to take
it, just leave us a note.
Shooting is the first step, but workflow is
the key. We will get as involved in your workflow as you would like us to.
Whether we make down-converted dubs for you, supply you with off or on-line
editing rooms, rent you a recorder so that you can capture and edit in your own
facility, or master and transfer to film or vice versa. It’s your choice. We’ve done all of the
above many times, and we’re here if you have any questions.
In 2000, Zacuto initiated the concept of a “creative community” in a shared space at 401 W. Ontario. Creatives can do business with each other
and their existing clients, or develop new business as a group. Combined, all these businesses offer clients every aspect of film/video production. This “creative community” now includes: 5 production companies, 3 editorial businesses, 2 video graphic companies & 2 DP’s. We all do business with each other, truly making 401 West Ontario a creative community of film
and video professionals.
In 2005, Zacuto started manufacturing
products. We just weren't able to find the products to do the things that
DP's were asking us to do. So we began making them under the brand Zacuto
USA. We decided we
would only make products if we could make something that is a huge improvement
over what's already out there. Our first product, was the Studio Universal
Base Plate system, a first in the industry. This base plate is
"Universal" and works with any camera. Wow, with every new
camera you don't need a new base plate, what a concept. Also, with the
advent of our accessory block (Double, Mini & Micro Mounts™)
and rods coming out the back, you can mount up to
4 articulating arms for monitors, hard drives, wireless units and even a whole
new battery power system to power everything on-board. Other products are
HVX200 Repeatable Focus Gear,
ZipGears, & a
shoulder pad.
Our current product in
production is a Universal Depth of Field Adapter (summer '07) that will
revolutionize the industry. Hint: works with all cameras from a Varicam to
an HVX200 and everything in-between with 0 to 1/2 stop light loss.
In 2006, Zacuto started its rent-to-own
program allowing filmmakers to purchase their Zacuto camera package now and
pay for it between 2 - 60 months. Zacuto's technological upgrade allows you to
upgrade any of the equipment in your camera package with the latest gear as it
becomes available. Zacuto will buy back your camera package or parts of it
and replace it with the new gear you want. You can either pay the
difference or keep your rent-to-own payment the same and add additional payments
to the end of the loan.
With a rental fleet of 25 24p cameras, 7 24p Recorders, 5 SD Recorders,
15 HD monitors and a Frame Rate Converter, Zacuto rentals is the Midwest’s largest supplier of Panasonic 24p HD/SD rental equipment and accessories. With same day courier service anywhere in the USA, no matter where you are, we are your local source for 24p. Other services include in-house production offices, stages, crews,
AVID/Final Cut SD and HD edit suites. Your entire film can be made within our facility. We are happy to accommodate any budget for your upcoming projects and promise to give you the best package rates on any or all of your crew, equipment and post-production needs.
